Building this kind of system has made me deeply familiar with the design patterns, libraries and frameworks needed for reliability at scale. I am obsessed with high quality testing and fast product validation cycles. I also author The Payments Engineer Playbook, a newsletter read by over 1,500 fintech engineers, where I explore the technical challenges of building money software.
